Helping Those In Need

How We Serve
NLQG members are a very generous group of quilters.  They routinely make and give away quilts to various groups.  Currently our focus is CASA of Northeast Louisiana and Pilots for Patients.  We are exploring the possibility of making and giving quilts and pillowcases to the local Foster Care Department and to a Rehabilitation home.    We also make and distribute quilts to the Veterans Home and Nursing Homes.

The Guild has hosted learning opportunities for children at the Makers Fair in downtown Monroe, Bastrop and Columbia.  We love sharing our special craft with others in the community.

CASA of Northeast Louisiana has advocated for approximately 1,900 children in need of care and has trained nearly 800 community volunteers. These CASA volunteers come from all walks of life and are a powerful voice for a child in need, making a lifelong difference, one child at a time. In September of 2022 members donated 41 quilts to CASA.
The mission of Pilots for Patients is to provide free air transportation to those patients needing diagnosis and treatments at medical facilities not available to them locally. Our goal is to eliminate the burden of travel allowing the patient to concentrate on getting well.  On September 20, 2019 Pilots for Patients, a 501(c) 3 non-profit volunteer pilots organization based in Monroe, Louisiana, completed their 5,000th air mission.   The North Louisiana Quilters' Guild is honored to provide warm quilts for these patients as they fly to and  receive treatments.
