Sign-Up for the National Teacher Classes will begin at the March Chapter and Quarterly Meetings. Our teacher, Jonce' Smith. Fabric and thread have always intrigued her. Her Mother taught her hand embroidery. In her late twenties, she bought her first sewing machine and has never looked back, making clothes for herself and family to home decor pieces. In 2008, she started quilting and has not stopped! Jonce's greatest achievement in sewing occurred last Fall when she attended Deb Tucker’s Bootcamp and was chosen as a national Certified Instructor for Studio 180 Design, her patented line of quilting tools. Deb’s tools were all developed using the same concept; cut and sew the block units just a little larger, and then trim them down. The result is a precise, highly accurate unit that makes piecing your final quilt block a breeze! Your quilts will showcase beautiful designs and all of your stars will have crisp, sharp points. Join me for fun filled class full of learning and laughter as we explore these wonderful tools. There will be a Lecture/Personal presentation on Thursday evening, July 24, 2025 at 6:00 pm. Everyone is invited to attend at no cost, including guests. We would however, ask that you register so we will know how many to expect. Friday’s Class, July 25th will be the “Hunter Star” For those of you that have done a hunter star before this is a new technique that makes things much easier. The cost for this class is $62.00. The guild will be paying ½ of this cost, to Guild members attending class, so you will only pay $31.00. You will receive a Book called Hidden Treasures and the Petite Hunter Star tool. When you sign up you will need to give me two checks. One for $31.00 that will be cashed so you can receive the book ahead of time and pick you fabric. The other check will be for $31.00 so that if you do not show up for class that check will be cashed to cover the additional cost of the book and ruler. If you do show up to class the second check will be given back to you before class. Classes will last from 9 - 4. Set-up should be by 8:30 and teacher requests you have a sewing machine in perfect working order as she does not work on machines. Saturday's Class, July 26th will be Lemoyne Star. Again, if you have done the Lemoyne Star before, you will also find this technique much easier. The cost for this class will be $54.00. The guild again will pay for ½ to Guild members attending class, so you will only pay $27.00. This class has a pattern and a ruler. When you sign up again you will give me two checks for $27.00 and the same goes for this class. If you show up you get the second check back and if not the second check will be cashed. Classes will last from 9 - 4. Set-up should be by 8:30 and teacher requests you have a sewing machine in perfect working order as she does not work on machines. If any Guild member would like the bundle price that is offered to us, she will honor this, but you will have to pay the full price of $62.00 or $54.00. It is only members that get ½ paid if they attend class. If you would like to check out the website it is: studio180design.net. If you have any questions, I will be happy to answer them.
