"Do More in 2024" Twenty Twenty-Four is our year to do MORE! And You challenge is to do more with less.
Very Simply there are 4 rules.
1. Your challenge has to represent one of four things, or multiples of the four things. examples - Earth, Sea, Sky or Flora/Fauna. How you choose to do that is up to you. You just have to explain what is represented.
2. It must come from you stash, UFOs, quilts you've always wanted to do, or one of those patterns you never got around to making.
3. You can only purchase one fabric for this challenge. It can be a background color, a blending color that brings it all together, one fabulous print, or the backing. Everything else must come from your stash.
4. If you need additional fabrics, swap or barter with quilting friends. And let's be generous with our new quilters and new members who may not have huge stashes. We want to have as many members as possible participate.
Last year as an added challenge, if you wanted to take "Going Green: a step further, you were encouraged not to buy any fabric for this challenge. This year we're building on that. Do more by purchasing less. No restrictions. You determine the size - the pattern - the shape -- the technique -- the final projet.
HAVE FUN!
"GO GREEN IN 23"
“Go Green in 2023” TWENTY-THREE is the number of CREATIVITY. It’s the number that encourages ARTISTRY. The color most closely identified with the number 23 is GREEN.
That’s right! 2023 is the year of the green quilt. Your quilt has to read as green. And it’s up to you to decide how that happens. It can be all green – a challenge. It can be green and white – a classic. It can be green and another color – green & blue or green & purple or green & yellow or green and whatever. It can include all the colors of the rainbow – as long as the viewer looks at it and sees a green quilt. Elaine DuBois once said in a program she gave that the binding color on a quilt with many colors determined the color of the quilt. A green binding reads as a green quilt.
So pull out your green stash and get inspired. Get with your Quilting Besties and swap greens. Swap ideas. Share inspirations. No restrictions. You determine the size – the pattern – the shape – the technique – the final project.
As an added challenge, if you want to take “Going Green” a step further, don’t buy any fabric for this challenge. Make it completely out of your stash. You can swap or barter with quilting friends, but no new fabric. (Or at least use your stash for the majority of the quilt.) Have FUN!!
